Welcome, friend! I'm thrilled to have you here. First and foremost, I'm a Registered Nurse. I started my nursing career in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), an experience that I cherished deeply. Even though it was challenging and exhausting, I loved learning every day and being able to make a profound impact on the lives of preemies and their families. When I had my first child, I realized how emotional it can be, so I decided to transition to school nursing for both public and private schools. While it was rewarding, I missed working with babies and found my way to become a case manager for foster care babies. Here, I was able to provide support to parents of healthy newborns and care for infants as well as children requiring specialized attention.
During my busy career and family life, I realized I had neglected my creative side. Growing up, my grandmother and mother fostered my love of art. We did countless arts and crafts, and they were some of my favorite memories. After having my third child, I took up photography courses to capture my newborn properly, and I fell in love with photography. Now, I focus on newborn, baby, and maternity photography, which fulfills my passion for art while utilizing my nursing skills. I photograph many premature babies because parents of preemies trust me with their miracles.
Being a nurse puts me in a unique position as both a newborn and maternity photographer. My intimate knowledge of infant behavior, development, and needs allows me to create a safe and comfortable environment during photo sessions. Patient safety is paramount in nursing, and this mindset extends seamlessly into the realm of baby photography. From supporting delicate necks to maintaining proper temperature and hygiene, I ensure that both the baby and the parents are at ease throughout the session.
With over four years of experience as a professional newborn and maternity photographer in Houston, Texas, I have won several awards and have over fifty 5-star Google reviews. I follow a baby-led session and love monochrome styling. In my free time, I enjoy reading, eating Indian food, trying new instant pot recipes, hiking, and spending time with my four living children and my husband. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me anything!
